Claire has over 20 years experience in social housing; including housing management, needs assessment, development, lettings, sales, business and strategy planning. Prior to becoming a consultant, she was part of the senior business management team at Notting Hill Housing Group in the post of Head of Independent Living Provision.
Claire's expertise is around the provision of independent housing and support. She specialises in home ownership options and has developed and is currently delivering a national training programme to enable housing associations to provide low cost home ownership to people with long term disabilities.
Claire uses her technical and practical experience to work in partnership with local authorities, housing associations and voluntary organisations providing staff training, creating and reshaping policies, strategies, procedures and services to ensure disability equality and housing and support options that meet individuals' needs. Claire also works directly with individuals and families to produce and implement person-centred plans, future plans for older family carers and to plan and deliver bespoke housing across all tenures.
Academically, Claire has specialised in social policy and social change and undertakes formal research and writing. She has written and co-written several publications relating to housing and support. See Publications for more information.
